William Turner (Billy) Bloyd, Adair Co., KY (1941-2018)

He was a member of the Hadley's Community Church. He taught for 27 years at Cedar Grove Elementary School in Shepherdsville, KY, was a substitute teacher for 23 years, and was a volunteer for Adair County School System, educator over 50 years, farmer & a secretary for the Adair Search & Recue. He was a leader in the affairs of the Adair County Democratic Party. He was a member of the party's executive committee and was Vice Chair of the Executive Committee at the time of his death. He was the son of the late William Edward & Bertha Pauline Turner Bloyd. He leaves a sister, Betty Brinner; a special friend Loretta Budzisz, a vast number of friends and cousins to mourn his passing.

William Turner "Billy" Bloyd age 76 years of the Fairplay community of Adair County, KY, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 8:39amCT, at his home.

Funeral service will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home Clergy, with Bro. Elbert Hadley & Bro. Ralph Hadley officiating. Interment in Turner Cemetery, 10255 Fairplay Road, at Crocus Creek, Adair County, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Saturday, at the funeral home.

He was born on February 8, 1941 in the Crocus community in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late William Edward & Bertha Pauline Turner Bloyd. He died Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Fairplay, Adair County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 21 days.

He is survived by:
  • One sister: Betty Brinner of Columbia, KY

  • Special friend: Loretta Budzisz of Columbia, KY

  • Cousins: David Hayden, Burkesville, KY; David Selby, Shepherdsville, KY; Ralph Turner Reece, Lexington, KY; Nancy Randall, Floyd Knobs, IN; Louise Turner Thompson, Greensburg, KY; Charles Douglas Turner, Floyds Knobs, IN; Martha Skaggs, Columbia, KY; & Donnie Turner, Russell Springs, KY
  • One uncle James T. Dudley of Granite City, IL.
