CPD arrests, jails, 31-year-old Columbian on drug charges Arrests occurs in Greenhills Subdivision, after Columbia Police receive call reporting suspicious car there. Suspect charged after traffic stop initiated. Note: Charges/allegations are not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by law enforcement is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding. By Ofc Josh Brockman, Public Information Officer Columbia Police Department, Chief Jason Cross Columbia Police Department officers received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the Greenhills subdivision on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, just before midnight. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 white Honda. As a result of the stop, 31-year-old Laura Franklin of Columbia, KY, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree.
