She was also a retired examiner for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. She was a member of a large, respected family with strong roots in Adair, Green, and Metcalfe Counties and elsewhere. She was the daughter of the late Paul Furkin & Bertha Pickett Furkin, and the widow of William Dennis Shirley, her husband of 64 years. The funeral services for Mrs. Era Mayrine Shirley will be conducted at 1pmCT, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Keltner Community of Adair County. Bro. Bill Davenport and Bro. Joseph Wilcoxson will officiate. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Monday, October 2, 2107, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Tuesday until time of the funeral service. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summer Shade United Methodist Church. She was also a retired examiner for Fruit of the Loom, Inc.
