Letter: Need respect for citizens and the law

Donna Saunders writes:
For years my husband and I have complained about the excessive speeding on Burkesville Street to no avail. I have also broached this subject with every political candidate that stopped by our home to elicite our vote. For the life of me I do not understand why no one seems to believe that laws need to be obeyed and not ignored and that they need to be enforced.

Why is it all right for speeders to go 50, 55 and 60+ mph in a 25/35 mph speed zone right in town. Whoever has decreed that no speeding tickets should be handed out has no regard for safety of its citizens or a respect for the law. --Donna Saunders
