Edith Roberts, 89, Adair County, KY (1927-2017)

Mrs. Roberts was a member of the New Hope Separate Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late McKinley & Ollie Hardwick Boone, and was reared by her grandparents, Mont & Mary Liz Hardwick. She leaves over 40 direct living descendants.

Edith Roberts, 89, Greencastle, IN, formerly of the Ella Community of Adair County, KY passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the home of her daughter after a short illness.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 12pmCT, at New Hope Separate Baptist Church, 10671 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. with Bro. David Coffey the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery, 131 New Hope Cemetery Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 3:30pmCT, on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

She was born October 20, 1927. She was the daughter of the late McKinley & Ollie Hardwick Boone, she was reared by her grandparents, Mont & Mary Liz Hardwick. She died Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in Greencastle, Putnam County, IN, at the age of 89 years, nine months, and 13 days.

Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband Edward Newton Roberts in 2004 and by a son, John Roberts in 2005

She is survived by:
  • Two daughters: Connie Jetter of Danville, IN; and Shelia Cash of Greencastle, IN

  • Two sons: Larry Roberts and Ray Roberts, both of Bainbridge, IN,

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Over 20 great grandchildren
Mrs. Roberts was a member of the New Hope Separate Baptist Church and a homemaker
