Polly Corbin Stone, 90, Englewood, CO/Adair Co., KY native (1927-2017)

She was the daughter of late Mont Elliot & Maude Isthyl Ford Corbin. She was a member of a prominent, old line Adair County family and the widow of William Severious Stone. She leaves 15 direct living descendants. Her final resting place will be in her native Adair County in Green River Country, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery

Pauline "Polly" Rae Corbin Stone, 90 years of Englewood, Colorado formerly of Owensboro, KY passed away February 5, 2017. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 at 4pmCT, at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 102 Mt. Carmel Cemetery Road, in Adair Co., KY.

She was born February 4, 1927 in Adair Co. KY. She was the daughter of the late Mont Elliot & Maude Isthyl Ford Corbin. She died February 5, 2017, at the age of 90 years, one day.

Polly married William (Bill) Severious Stone on September 10, 1947 in Owensboro, KY. Bill preceded her in death on January 2, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Montra O'Neil Corbin Wethington; and a half sister Mary Cornelia Hughes Rainwater Hughes, Lelia Corbin and Ruby May Corbin. And half brothers: Phillip Leslie Corbin, Linward (Buddy) Beal Corbin, and Finis Edwin Corbin. She is survived by:
  • Her five children: William Stephen Stone, Karen O'Neal Stone, Melissa Lee Stone Bell, Heather Leigh Corbin Stone, and Christopher Mont Corbin Stone

  • Eight grandchildren: William Stephen Stone, Emily Rae Stone, Mitchell Ryan Stone, Robert Bruce Lowe, Amy Elizabeth Lowe, Linley Rae Bell, Conner Lee Bell, and Thomas Christopher Stone

  • Two great grandchildren: Miguel Bruce Lowe and Isabella Anne Lowe
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, assisted the family with arrangements.
