Columbia/Adair Co. EDA meeting report 20 Jun 2017

Green River Commerce Park sewer project is now complete and ATS reports service is working well. Budget accepted for new fiscal year. Fireworks are on for Fourth of July, at the old Fairgrounds.

The Columbia/Adair County Economic Development Authority (CACEDA) held its regular monthly meeting today, 20 Jun 2017, with Mark Dykes, chairman, presiding.

With Chairman Dykes were EDA Board members Roger Meadows, Kenzie Rowe, and Ann Martin. Also present were Adair County Judge Executive Mike Stephens, Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick, and members of the media.

Budget matters were first to be considered.



Treasurer Ann Martin presented the monthly income and expense statement, up a few dollars from the last month, with a total balance of $158,076.32 and the vote to approve was unanimous.

The vote was also unanimous to accept the Treasurer's proposed budget of $129,606.32 for the new fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017.

Chairman Dykes reported having spoken with ATS owner Rob Wilkerson and the Green River Commerce Park sewer project is now complete and working well. After asking Mayor Hardwick to provide ending figures on the cost share of the sewer project, the Chairman said Mr. Wilkerson has been invited to the next EDA meeting to present his request to purchase a few more acres of Park property for future development and added jobs at ATS. After the EDA Board makes a decision on the possible sale, he said it will be time to discuss the possibility of extending the road through the park.

CJE Stephens reported that the July Fourth fireworks are on track to happen in the old Fairgrounds location again this year.
