Leon Sullivan, Taylor County, KY/Huntington Co., IN native (1930-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church. Leon was a retired farmer, logger and heavy equipment operator and his work was more like a hobby to him. He especially enjoyed running the bulldozer and rolling hay and playing jokes on his coworkers and friends. His wife of 66 years, Genea Hunt Sullivan, survives. He leaves 21 direct living descendants.

Leon Sullivan, 86, Campbellsville, KY, died at 10:04amET, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Campbellsville.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY. by Rev. Jimmy York and Rev. Donnie Blick. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Leon Sullivan was the son of the late Charlie Sullivan & Mae Short Sullivan, was born November 7, 1930, in Huntington, Hunting County, IN. He died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 86 years, six months, and 10 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church.

Leon was a retired farmer, logger and heavy equipment operator and his work was more like a hobby to him. He especially enjoyed running the bulldozer and rolling hay and playing jokes on his coworkers and friends.

He united in marriage to Genea Hunt March 10, 1951

Besides his wife, Genea Sullivan of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by:
  • Two sons and one daughter: Randy Sullivan and wife, Betty of Marion County, KY; Mike Sullivan and wife, Connie and Donna Wright and husband, Jeff of Campbellsville, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Lindsay Wright Franklin and husband, Andrew; Cory Wright and wife, Chelsea; Jeremy Sullivan and wife, Jennifer; Shanna Judd and husband, Brandon; Greta Sullivan Caldwell; and Amy Sullivan Brown

  • Twelve great-grandchildren

  • Two brothers: Seibert Sullivan and wife, Minnie of Campbellsville, KY; and Dean Sullivan of Hodgenville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jade Sullivan May 5, 2012 and one brother, Clayton Sullivan.
