Green County Grand Jury returns indictments 3 May 2017

Indictments brought against 7 Individuals from Greensburg, Summersville, and Morgantown, KY, on charges including assault, burglary, wanton endangerment, possession, and unlawful transactions with a minor.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Green County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Greensburg, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Wednesday, 3 May 2017:


  • Jason Hill (06/08/1986), Happyville Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00025. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Assault, 4th degree (domestic), 3rd+ within 5 years. Bond set at $5,000/10%, no contact with victim.

  • John C. Upton (11/09/1986), Old Hodgenville Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00026. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 2nd degree. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Bond set at $5,000 unsecured, no contact with C. Edwards, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law, attend drug counseling through probation and parole.

  • Norman Warren (06/14/1961), Doc Ward Rd., Summersville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00027. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Assault, 2nd degree. Bond set at $10,000 cash, no contact with victim, no firearms, no weapons.

  • Lucus Fields (10/17/1991), Dave Gaskey Ln., Morgantown, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00028. Charged with 11 counts. Count 1 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree, police officer. Counts 2-3 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 4 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine). Count 5 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Count 6 - Operating a motor vehicle under influence drug/alcohol etc. .08, 1st offense. Count 7 - Reckless driving. Count 8 - Failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation. Count 9 - Failure to produce insurance card. Count 10 - Failure to render aid. Count 11 - Persistent felony offender. Bond set at $10,000/10%, MCR@PTS report and test weekly.

  • Joseph R. Reynolds (04/14/1984), N. Depot, Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00029. Charged with 6 counts. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, drug unspecified. Count 2 - Receiving stolen property - firearm. Count 3 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Count 4 - Carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Count 5 - Failure to wear seat belts. Count 6 - Careless driving. Bond set at $1,000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Michael J. Chappell (01/23/1988), Legion Park Rd, Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00030. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine). Count 2 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Bond set at $1,000 USB.

  • John Davis (02/02/1942), Cook St., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00031. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Unlawful transaction with a minor, 2nd degree. Count 2 - Trafficking in controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school. Count 3 - Trafficking in controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school. Count 4 - Drug paraphernalia buy/possess. Bond set at $5,000/10%, no contact with victim, no contact minors, no alcohol, no illegal drug use.
