LW Athletics Awards Ceremony scheduled for Wed 03 May 2017 By Charles Balcom, Assistant COLUMBIA, KY (Tue 02 May 2017) - The second-annual Lindsey Wilson College Athletics Awards Ceremony is set for Wednesday night at 7pmCT at V.P. Henry Auditorium, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY. The ceremony shines light on department awards that have been chosen internally to honor Blue Raider student-athletes who are exceptional both on and off the field of competition. Award winners were selected by a committee consisting of members of the Lindsey Wilson Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and members of the athletic administration. Each Lindsey Wilson athletic team has a student-athlete representative on the advisory committee. The awards include Best Male and Female Performance, Champion of Character, Male and Female Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior of the Year, Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year, Best Team Performance and Play of the Year. A number of annual awards, including Team of the Year, Team Community Service Award, Team GPA and Coach of the Year, have been pushed back to a summer announcement to allow for the completion of the entire 2016-17 athletic and academic year. Lindsey Wilson's individual national champion Sabrina Bice (Cycling) will also be honored at the event, along with a video presentation highlighting the accomplishments in 2016-17.
