By Melissa Moore, Owner, A & M Restaurant

Skipping Forward 20 plus years; I landed in the middle of what is known to many as "Coburg" a rural area south of the county seed of Adair County. I grew up in this county; like many before me, I left to seek out better opportunities. I needed to return home to be closer to my father however, employment opportunities to progress economically; for me and for many others still didn't exist in our county.

Adair County hadn't progressed in the 20 plus years I was gone. Our county still doesn't offer better employment opportunities but this is another story (a.k.a. issue) all together and I leave this paragraph on this note.

We decided to invest our time and money in Coburg

My father and I decided to invest our time and money here in Coburg with hopes to employ, create and establish a strong community. It's been hard, slow and wonderful all at the same time. Two years later, we have established a small rural restaurant for our town and united our agriculture community. Thank you to everyone who has supported us through our transitions of learning, endurance and embracement and we hope you continue to support us as we walk through the next two (2) years.

Sandy Ford will be operating the store as 'Sandy's County Line Diner'

Our property will be going through some major remodeling and transitions. First & Foremost, our restaurant will have new faces; please welcome Sandy Ford to the team. She will be operating and running the restaurant in "Coburg". I'm excited for her to progress, employ and help make our community stronger. Come check out Sandy's County Line Diner. Thank you!

New Building under construction for new Beauty Salon/Barber Shop

Secondly, a new building will be under construction on the north side of our property. Here we our laying a foundation for a new Beauty Salon/Barber Shop. This new Beauty Salon will have four chair's and create opportunities for employment for new or existing Cosmetologist or Barbers. Bonnie Lawless will be the operator.

In addition, one chair will be left open for apprenticeship after obtaining your certified license from the state. Licensing requirements require a new cosmetologist or barber to work under someone for the first six (6) months. The location will offer Tanning, Clothing & Jewelry from up and coming artist.

Kitchen & Bath Design Center coming to the center

Lastly, we will be working on building a Kitchen & Bath Design Center for Remodeling & New Construction. This center will focus on a "one stop" shopping experience for the consumer and on a budget. Total packages will include: Design/Blueprints, Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall, Flooring, Cabinets, Countertops, Tile & Stone & later HVAC. We will carry hard-to-find installer materials also, that you can't find in the local area. Thank you for your patience and support for the last two years. We look forward to empowering our community and creating employment opportunities.
