Sheriff's office says suspect, an Adair Countian, apprehended by Campbellsville Police southbound on New Columbia Road after leaving the scene. Suspect charged also with DUI. Victim treated at Taylor County Regional Hospital.
Note: An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
From Taylor County Sheriff's Office
A Columbia, KY man is facing charges after an alleged assault on a Campbellsville woman early Sunday morning.
Taylor County Sheriff Allen Newton says his Deputy Tim Coppage responded to 103 Ashton Drive, Campbellsville, KY, here 34 year old Mindy Tucker had been injured, allegedly by Dustin Stapleton, 32, of Columbia, KY.
Stapleton had fled the scene prior to the TCSO officers arriving.
Moments later, Stapleton was observed driving southbound on KY 55/New Columbia Road, by Campbellsville Police Officer Daniel Forbus. Forbus stopped the Stapleton vehicle and charged Stapleton with Driving Under the Influence. Sheriff Allen Newton has placed a Felony Domestic Violence charge against Stapleton.
