By Anthony Latessa, Lindsey Wilson College

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team added Callum Blinkhorn for the 2017-18 season head coach Erick Wyrick announced on Wednesday.

Blinkhorn comes to Lindsey Wilson from Culcheth, England where he was the Culcheth High School Golfer of the Year. He also advanced to the second round of the 2016 British Boys Amateur Championship.

"I am very excited to have Callum joining our program," Wyrick said. "He is a young man who has worked very hard on his game for a long time. Callum has proven his ability at the regional and national level playing in many quality events over the past few years all over Europe."

Blinkhorn won the Association of Colleges Sport National Championship Regional Qualifier and was a runner-up in the North of England Schools Championship. He was the recipient of the 2016 Sport Priestley Regional Honors Award.

Blinkhorn was a member on the 2015 Manchester District Golf Alliance Dunham Forest Final and the 2016 Four Counties Junior Tournament championship teams. He was also the 2016 Leigh Golf Club Champion, Lancashire Junior Scratch League Champion and finished in third place in the St. Annes Old Links Ashton Trophy in Order of Merit.

"He is a quality young man who values hard work both on the course and in the classroom," Wyrick said. "I am confident that Callum will easily make the transition to collegiate golf and bring a lot to our program. He has a great future and I am so glad to welcome him to our Blue Raider family."
