Mrs. Delcie E. Wright Capps, Cumberland Co., KY (1929-2016)

She was a member of Burkesville Church of Christ, a seamstress for Kentucky Pants Factory and Bob Evans Manufacturing, and a homemaker. She was the matriarch of a distinguished Cumberland County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nora (Groce) Wright, and the widow of Roy F. Capps, Sr. She leaves five direct living descendants.

Mrs. Delcie E. Wright Capps of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at The Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1pmCT, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Jeffery Vibbert officiating. Burial will be in The Burkesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT, on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 until the funeral hour on Wednesday.



Mrs. Delcie E. Wright Capps, Cumberland Co., KY (1929-2016)

She was born on Monday, June 17, 1929, in the Leslie Community of Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nora (Groce) Wright. She died Sunday, October 9, 2016, having attained the age of 87 years, three months, and 22 days.

She was a member of Burkesville Church of Christ, a seamstress for Kentucky Pants Factory and Bob Evans Manufacturing, and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy F. Capps, Sr. whom she married on Saturday, December 8, 1951, and her son, R. Fred Capps, Jr.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her son: Rick (and Kim) Capps of Burkesville, KY

  • Daughter-in-law: Catherine B. Capps of Burkesville, KY

  • Sister: Marie Wright Capps of Burkesville, KY

  • Brothers: J. D. (and Anna Marie) Wright of Burkesville, KY; Frank (and Randa) Wright of Burkesville, KY; and David (and Beverly) Wright of Bowling Green, KY

  • Four grandchildren, Sarah (and Dustin) Hayes, John (and Jessica) Capps, Elizabeth (and Jonathan) Stice, and Lydia (and Adam) Terry.
