Welcome to our ten-year 'Silent City Tour Celebration' celebration. Please join us on Monday evenings throughout the month of October for fun and informative historical programs.



Ten Years in the Making--'Silent City Tour' is celebrating a major anniversary this October with four weeks of special Monday night events. October is Family History Month across the nation. Throughout October there will be historical artifacts and photos of Adair County, Columbia, and its people on display at the library during business hours. Please stop in to reminisce and browse the Genealogy Department.

  • 5pmCT - Mon 3 Oct 2016 - Dining With The Departed! at the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Join with the Adair Public Library, Adair Genealogical Society and others to dine alfresco at the Cemetery, weather permitting. Soups and Sandwiches are the fare of the day! Park at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY and walk over to the cemetery or park in the Adair County Judicial Center, 201 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, parking lot and adjoining the cemetery for a shorter walk. During the 'time of dining' informal walks through the old section will be conducted.

  • 5pmCT - Mon 10 Oct 2016 - The Pelham Branch Story - Adjacent to the Adair Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. the Pelham Branch Story will be re-enacted for the enjoyment of attendees. The story of a frontier-era battle royale! Parking in the library lot, event take place at the library.

  • 5pmCT - Mon 17 Oct 2016 - Voices From the Past -A compilation of oral history interviews dating to the 1980s with local historians and personalities. Conducted by Mike Watson. Parking in the parking lot, Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

  • 5pmCT - Mon 24 Oct 2016 - 'Looking Back Through Our County Cemeteries' - Featuring the filmed 2013, Silent City Tour. Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Silent Cities Tour of County Cemeteries. Parking in the library lot, event takes place at the library.
