Robert (Bob) Bryant, 86, Adair Co., KY (1930-2016)

He was a member of a prominent, highly regarded Adair County, KY, family. He was a native of Cane Valley, Adair County, and a resident of Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late James Albert & Bessie Jane Bohannon Bryant. His wife, Doris Harvey Bryant, survives. He leaves a great family, numbering 36 direct living descendants. He was a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, a merchant for 30 years, and owned & operated Harvey & Bryant Building Supply and was a farmer.

Robert "Bob" Bryant age 86 years of Columbia, KY passed away suddenly, Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 10:56amCT, at his home.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 23, 2016 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Colukmbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Thursday, September 22, 2016, at the funeral home.



Robert (Bob) Bryant, 86, Adair Co., KY (1930-2016)


He was born on March 12, 1930 in Cane Valley, Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late James Albert & Bessie Jane Bohannon Bryant. He died Tuesday, September 20, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 86 years, six months, and eight days.

Preceded in death by a still born son, Gary Lewis Bryant; a grandson, Janssen Keith Bryant; two brothers and three sisters, James Bryant, Stanley Bryant, Lucille Absher Turner, Ruth Bohannon, and Beatrice Nancy Lindquist

He is survived by his wife, Doris Harvey Bryant, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Larry Russell Bryant (Sheila) and Terry Bryant (Debra Allen) of Columbia, KY

  • Daughters: Wanda Sanders (Byron) of Campbellsville, and Brenda Holt (Tony) of Bowling Green, KY

  • One brother: Lawrence Bryant of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Norene Breeding of Bowling Green, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Twenty-one great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
He was a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, a merchant for 30 years, and owned & operated Harvey & Bryant Building Supply and was a farmer
