City Council awards blacktopping bid to Gaddie-Shamrock

Last paving package of the season

The Columbia City Council, met in a special session to open bids for blacktopping projects on four streets on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, with Mayor Curtis Hardwick presiding, and four council members, Charles Grimsley, Linda Waggener, Craig Lasley, and Ronald Rogers present, as was City Clerk Rhonda Loy.

One bid was received, from Gaddie-Shamrock, for $42,910.



On a motion by Council Member Ronald Rogers and second by Linda Waggener, the Council voted 4-0 to accept the bid.

The four streets to be paved are parts of Corporate Drive, Grady Loop, Short Street, and Hemlock Street.

The work is to be completed in the 2016 paving season. The cost per ton of paving material remained at $70/ton.
