Revisit Knifley Festival will be Sept 9 and 10

By Debbie Cowan

The third annual Revisit Knifley Homecoming and Festival will be held Friday, September 9th and Saturday, September 10th in the Knifley community. Plans are underway for a variety of activities and events that will appeal to the entire family.

The festival will begin on Friday night with a children's pageant at 6:30pmCT at the Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department, 6130 Elkhorn Rd, Columbia, KY. Vendors will have booths open and food will be available that night as well.

The main festival will begin early Saturday morning with a pancake breakfast, country ham breakfast and a 5K fun run/walk. Other activities planned for the day are a tractor and car show, games and lots of free activities for the kids as well as the popular Knifley historical display. There will be many vendor booths available this year selling a variety of unique items, many of them hand made by local craftsperson.

Gospel group Driven will provide a free concert at 11:00 under a big tent and festival attendees can try their hand at entertaining the crowd by singing karaoke from 2:00 • 5:00.

The event will conclude with a free concert by local band Crooked Creek and an explosive firework show at dark. All events will be held in •downtown• Knifley at the Volunteer Fire Department, Knifley Emmaus Campground (former Knifley Grade Center), Patterson•s Bait & Grocery and in field areas near the crossroads.

Bring your family and your lawn chair and plan to spend the day in the Knifley community. For information about the festival, contact Lisa Greer at 270-469-0376 or Kathy Tucker at 270-634-1263. Volunteers are needed and vendor booth space is still available. For more information and to access registration forms visit the Revisit Knifley Facebook page.
