Personal Commentary

The picture shows a good view from a drivers perspective. How easy is it to see a pedestrian with several sign post, utility pole, shrubbery bush, lamp post and built up flower box with tall greenery obstructing their view of someone walking out from behind it.

Much less with pouring rain. Next thing they will want to do is put up crossing gates like the railroad.

Maybe we ought to put a roof on the square and make a walking mall out of it. That way everyone can be "bent" out of shape to "by-pass" Columbia as that is where everything will wind up.
The police report said the driver was moving really slow and I can only remember about 3 people to be hit on the square in my lifetime.

That's a pretty good record considering the traffic and pedestrians using the same real estate. --Mitch McKinley
