LWC men's soccer opens at No. 23 in NAIA Preseason Poll

The NAIA announced their Men's Soccer Preseason Top-25 Coaches' Poll on Tuesday afternoon, and the Blue Raiders come into the 2016 season ranked No. 23.

Lindsey Wilson received 132 points in the preseason poll and moved up one spot from the end of last season. This marks the 106th-straight appearance in the polls which is the longest active streak in the NAIA.


Defending national champion Rio Grande (Ohio) grabbed all 18 first-place votes in the poll and held on to their number one ranking.

Rounding out the top five are, No. 2 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.), No. 3 Missouri Valley, No. 4 Lindenwood-Belleview (Ill.) and No. 5 Davenport (Mich.).

Two other Mid-South Conference teams find themselves in the poll. Campbellsville (Ky.) is ranked No. 12 with 322 points and Cumberland (Tenn.) in ranked No. 19 with 207 points.

Along with Campbellsville and Cumberland, the Blue Raiders have four other matchups against teams in the top 25 including, No. 1 Rio Grande, No. 13 Union (Ky.) and No. 18. Northwestern (Ohio).
