Plans for new subdivision given ok at P & Z meeting Development is on former Porter & Julia Conover estate on Woody Avenue between Yates Street & Grissom Street. Eight residential units to be built by Greg, Jacob, and Elliott Burton. Plan granted permission for continuance on unanimous vote of P & Z. Click on headline for complete story, subdivision plat ColumbiaMagazine.com (c) story The City of Columbia Planning and Zoning Commission met in a special called meeting July 14 for the purpose of reviewing site development plans for a major subdivision to be located on Woody Avenue. Members of the Burton family appeared asking for permission to move ahead with development of an eight-home subdivision in Columbia on what was formerly the Conover property across from Adanta. Greg Burton and his sons are the new owners and developers. They were told their plans met the requirements of the City to this point. Members of the planning and zoning commission granted permission for continuance of development on a motion by George Kolbenschlag that the owners may proceed with site plans as presented pending continuing checks on utilities as they are installed.
