Job open managing the Jim Blair Recreatoin Center By Linda Waggener, P&R Board Member The Adair County Parks and Recreation Board met Monday July 11, 2016 without enough members present to form a quorum. No official action was taken, however several items were discussed toward future decisions. - Former park employee has resigned - The job is open: 23 hours a week, $10 per hour - Two board member seats are open - Air conditioning bids remain open until July 21st The Parks and Recreation Job Description includes the following: policy and procedure implementation, maintain and schedule accurate and up-to-date calendar of activities, see that the building and grounds are in serviceable conditions at all times with some maintenance duty capabilities, supervise inventory of equipment, repair and care and keep records on the facility and supervise volunteers. There are two Board Member seats are open at this time -- the Board discussed looking for any ages, from public school students to retired seniors and all ages in between who will be able to donate time to the Center. In addition to the two needed board members, general volunteers are needed in all areas. Bids for air conditioning installation in the half of the Blair Center not taken up by the Senior Citizens Center remain open until July 21. The decision will be made on that date as to the winner of the bid. Present at the meeting were director Lisa Handy, and board members Debbie Yates and Linda Waggener. Absent were Wes Feese, Charles Grimsley and Billy Coffey. The board meets each second Tuesday of the month at 4:30pmCT in the 911 Center.
