He was a farmer and carpenter, and served his country honorably in the United States Army in both World War II and Korean War. He was the son of the late Claude & Nola Aaron Grider and the widower of Alene Hale Grider, his wife of almost 69 years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

Bobbie Grider, age 91 of Russell Springs, died Wednesday, June 29th at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 12pmNoonCT, on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 E Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, with interment in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amCT, on Saturday at the funeral home.



Bobbie Grider, 91, Russell Co., KY (1925-2016)


He was the son of the late Claude and Nola Aaron Grider. He was born Thursday May 7, 1925. He died June 29, 2016, at the age of 91 years, one month, and 22 days.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 69 years, Alene Hale Grider on February 3, 2016.

He was a farmer and carpenter, and served his country honorably in the United States Army in both World War II and Korean War.

He was also a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

He is survived by the following:
  • Three sisters in laws: Mildred Hale, Betty Hale and Fostene Rexroat all of Russell Springs, KY

  • And a host of nieces and nephews
