Donnie Coleman Shofner, 76, Taylor Co., KY (1940-2016)

Donnie had been retired for 14 years from Coca-Cola where he serviced vending machines. He enjoyed time spent at home where he especially liked watching NASCAR races on television. He was a member of a respected Taylor County, KY with deep roots on LaRue County, KY and elsewhere, as well. He was the son of the late Waller T. and Laura Shofner. His wife Carolyn Shofner, survives, as does his daughter, Ashley Shofner.

The family request visitation 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.



Donnie Coleman Shofner, 76, Taylor Co., KY (1940-2016)


He was born January 24, 1940, in Larue County, KY. He was the son of the late Waller T. and Laura Shofner. He died Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 76 years, two months, and 17 days.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Gilpin and brothers, Monroe and Roosevelt Shofner.

Donnie had been retired for 14 years from Coca-Cola where he serviced vending machines. He enjoyed time spent at home where he especially liked watching NASCAR races on television.

He is survived by the following:
  • His wife: Carolyn Shofner, Campbellsville, KY

  • A daughter: Ashley Shofner, of Campbellsville, KY

  • Sisters: Jane Milby and her husband, Bob, and Kaye Hatcher and her husband, Jim, and Viola Watson and her husband Joe, all of Campbellsville, KY; Nevon Wolfe and her husband, George of Virginia; Shelia Gail Morovec of Texas; and Tammy Dixon of Owensboro, KY

  • Brothers: Dean Shofner and his wife, Patricia of Lexington, KY; and Scotty Shofner, of Tennessee.
