CJE and Mayor proclaim Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Child Abuse Prevention Month has been observed each April since its first presidential proclamation in 1983.

In accordance with this Adair County officials have proclaimed this month to raise awareness that all children deserve to grow up in a happy, healthy environment. This urges all citizens, community agencies, faith groups, medical facilities, and businesses to increase their participation in our efforts to support families, thereby preventing child abuse and strengthening our community.

Present at the proclamation signing were:



Bradly Stotts, KSP Sergeant; Morgan Tapp, Victim Advocate Adanta Sexual Assault Resource Center; Amy Price, Clinical Coordinator Lake Cumberland Children's Advocacy Center; Heather McAninch, Director Adanta Sexual Assault Resource Center; Mayor Hardwick; Ellen Zornes, President of Lake Cumberland Children's Advocacy Center Board; Adair County Judge Executive Michael Stephens; Kalin Barnett, Social Worker at DCBS; Gail Williams Adair Commonwealth Attorney; Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin, Adair County Attorney; Kara Iqbal, Social Worker at DCBS; and Columbia .Police Chief Jason Cross
