CUMC Women's club supports LWC international students
By Duane Bonifer
Members of The United Methodist Church-Women's Club of Columbia United Methodist Church recently gave $50 to help international students studying this spring at Lindsey Wilson College.
LWC Director of International Student Programs Sabine Eastham spoke at the group's March meeting, held March 1 at Columbia UMC. Eastham explained the program's many facets and also lauded area host families for helping LWC's international students adjust to life in Columbia-Adair County. LWC has a record 106 students from 38 countries enrolled this spring, and more than 40 host families work with the students.
Eastham encourage the group's members to attend LWC's upcoming international festival, "Passport to the World," which will be April 5. At the event, food and crafts will be on display so that participants can experience various cultures in multi-sensory ways. The April 5 event will be free and open to the public.
