Edward (Buddy) Earl Gentry, 89, Monroe Co., KY (1925-2016)

He was a farmer and of the Methodist faith. He was a native of Summer Shade, KY, a resident of the community at the time of his death in Tompkinsville, KY. He was the son of the late John Edward and Matry Huffman Gentry. His wife Debbie Jones Gentry, survives. He leaves six direct and two step living descendants.

Edward Earl "Buddy" Gentry, age 69, of Summer Shade, KY, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the Monroe County Medical Center, Tompkinsville, KY

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 12pmNoonCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY. Visitation starting Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2pmCT till 8pmCT and Saturday from 7amCT till funeral time at the funeral home.



Edward (Buddy) Earl Gentry, 89, Monroe Co., KY, KY (1925-2016)


Born January 23, 1947, in Summer Shade, KY. He was a son of the late John Edward and Matry Huffman Gentry. He died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, in Tompkinsville, Monroe County, KY, at the age of 69 years, 11 days.

He was a farmer and of the Methodist faith.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Debbie Jones Gentry, include:
  • Two daughters: Tonya ( Jimmy) Edwards, Glasgow, KY; and Nicole Gentry, Summer Shade, KY

  • Three grandchildren, Bo (Carey) Edwards, Cody Edwards and Jaycie Edwards

  • Great grandson: Jack Edwards.

  • Step-children: Brandi Lawson, Neil Lawson both of Summer Shade.S

  • Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Gentry, Mary Garrett, and Betty Thompson.
