Betty Jane Gorin-Smith works with CHS on history project

By Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer/Grant Writer
Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS), Campbellsville, KY

Campbellsville High School students are helping preserve Taylor County's history. Clark Agathen of KTL Computer Concepts is working with Taylor County historian Betty Jane Gorin-Smith to create a website for the Taylor County Museum.

To help, Agathen recently met with a group of Sonya Kessler's AP computer science and STLP students to invite them to participate in the project.

For their portion of the project, students will scan and categorize historical photos. They will then create HTML web pages of their work.

When finished, the website will function as a digital historical archive for Taylor County.

CHS students will receive credit on the website for helping with the project.

Students involved with the project are CHS senior Paige Dabney and juniors Logan Brown, Alyssa McCarthy, Jared Brewster, Krysten Hill and Laura May Gutierrez.

Sonya Kessler, the computer science teacher at CHS, leads the STLP group.
