CHS academic team wins awards, advances to regional competition Seven members of Campbellsville HS A-team advances to regional competition with competitors from Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, John Hardin, North Hardin, Bullitt Central, Bullitt East, North Bullitt, Spencer County, Bardstown, Bethlehem, LaRue County, Nelson County, Thomas Nelson, Marion County, Washington County and Taylor County. In district competition, CHS competed with Marion County, Washington County, and Taylor County High Schools. Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Calen McKinney, Public Affairs Officer Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS) Campbellsville High School's academic team won several awards at district Governor's Cup competition on Saturday, January 30, 2016. As a result, seven students will advance to regional competition. At Governor's Cup competition, teams compete in on-demand writing, quick recall, future problem solving and five written exams, including math, science, social studies, language arts and arts and humanities. In its district, CHS competes against Marion, Washington and Taylor counties. At Governor's Cup competition, CHS received third place overall. The CHS future problem solving team - made up of senior Micah Price, sophomores Samuel Kessler and Cass Kidwell and freshman Randy Harris - finished in second place. In the arts and humanities category, freshman Randy Harris won fourth place. And, the CHS team received the sportsmanship award. At regional competition, CHS will compete against Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, John Hardin, North Hardin, Bullitt Central, Bullitt East, North Bullitt, Spencer County, Bardstown, Bethlehem, LaRue County, Nelson County, Thomas Nelson, Marion County, Washington County and Taylor County. Regional competition is set for Tuesday, February 16, and Saturday, February 20, at Elizabethtown High School, 620 N Mulberry Street.
