Personal commentary

Brandon, I wish I had a crystal ball to see how much revenue legal alcohol sales would bring. I don't have the ability to pinpoint it. We can calculate, figure and breakdown examples all day long, coming up with various figures and estimates. Bottom line, any tax revenue captured from legal alcohol sales would be more than we have now.

The tax revenue we capture is very important, however the ripple effect will equally impact our county. If a person drives to Taylor, Marion, Pulaski or Russell County (soon) to pickup a $20 bottle of wine, they may also enjoy a steak dinner, grab some ice cream, a few groceries, some gifts, a new jacket, some shoes, bowl a game or two and fill their gas tanks up while there. A $20 bottle of wine just cost multiple Adair County small businesses countless sales dollars.

I'm glad we are on the same team in regards to helping Adair County grow. We at PAC have brainstormed ideas about how to continue the momentum after the election, no matter how the people of this county decide to vote. You seem very passionate about the community and the people that live here. As wife, mother, business owner and volunteer, I understand never having enough hours in the day. If you could find time in your schedule, our doors are always open for people with progressive ideas and the willingness to pitch in and help move Adair County forward.

- Shannon Sexton - PAC Chair
