Brandon Burns: Use alcohol tax money to pay off hospital debt

Comments re article 80265 PAC Chairman makes statement on wet vote win in Russell Co

By Brandon Burns
Personal commentary

Just a suggestion but with all this apparent tax revenue the county could be getting from alcohol sales, I think the PAC should add a stipulation on the vote.

If the wet/dry vote passes, the county will use 100% of the tax revenue to pay off the hospital debt and stop the hospital tax.

In Nov. 2013, the expected revenue from the hospital tax was $570,000.

Surely our citizens would rather keep that money. More money in people's pockets helps the people.

PAC Chairman even just said, "It's time we give our citizens a chance instead of giving them a struggle." - Brandon Burns
