Gary Hays joins BAFA, Burkesville, KY, as instructor Burkesville Academy of Fine Arts expands curriculum. Mr. Hays will teach mandolin, violin, and fiddle by Elise Kieffer Gary Hays has joined Burkesville Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA) as a guitar instructor. He will begin offering fiddle, violin, and mandolin lessons at BAFA starting January 8, 2016. Mr. Hays is a Warren Co. KY native, born in Bowling Green. He started guitar at age 10 and fiddle at 12. In 1975 he formed The Hays Brothers Bluegrass Band with his brother Jeff playing Banjo, and they have performed in many venues, including The Lincoln Jamboree, The Old Time School of Folk Music in Chicago, and the artist roster of The Folk Life Program having performed in many KY Folk Life Festivals. In November 2014 BAFA opened its doors to aspiring musicians offering group classes in choir and general music for all ages and private instruction in voice, piano, guitar, drums, trumpet, euphonium and baritone. Gary comes to The Burkesville Academy of Fine Arts after 4 years of string teaching at The Backstage Music Company in Glasgow, KY. In addition to teaching he makes and repairs violins. In November 2014 BAFA opened its doors to aspiring musicians offering group classes in choir and general music for all ages and private instruction in voice, piano, guitar, drums, trumpet, euphonium and baritone. Burkesville Academy of Fine Arts, 128 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, will continue offering private instruction in guitar, drums, piano, voice and trumpet. BAFA also offers weekly dance classes.
