Great Wooded South Lexicon XII

Next Lexicon: Great Wooded South Lexicon XIII
Previous Lexicon: Great Wooded South Lexicon XI: Properly mumbling Kentuckyese

By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired Forester
Kentucky Division of Forestry

Time for a few additions to our already extensive GWS Lexicon. Some new updates are needed to bring many "From Off" who are only beginning their assimilation into the rich culture of the Great Wooded South and also "fur" those that might be about to graduate.
  • whar: a strand of metal of various diameters and lengths for transporting electricity and to build fences to name a couple uses

  • tar: the rubber object installed on a wheel and inflated with air

  • cat on wheels: a really "cool" individual or one who thinks himself or herself to be

  • pill: a really obnoxious, stubborn person
