News from Kentucky Department of Corrections

Frankfort, KY - (2 Sep 2015) - Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Roberto Rodriguez today announced the promotion of Katy Kilgore to assistant supervisor of District 3 in Bowling Green. District 3 covers seven counties including Adair, Barren, Casey, Cumberland, Metcalfe, Monroe, and Warren with satellite offices in Columbia and Glasgow. Her promotion is effective September 16, 2015.

"I am pleased that Katy Kilgore is joining us as an assistant supervisor for District 3," said Rodriguez. "Her diversity and experience will bring strength to District 3 and her ability to get things done is refreshing. She will be an asset to our division."

Kilgore started her service with the Department of Corrections in January 2007 as an intern for District 3 through Western Kentucky University (WKU). Later that year after graduating from WKU with a degree in social work, she was hired as a probation and parole officer for the district. Kilgore served as the drug court liaison and was actively involved in the re-entry initiative. She also served as a field instructor for WKU's internship program.

In 2011, she was promoted to social service clinician and has assisted in monitoring DOC's Substance Abuse Program/Intensive Outpatient Program (SAP/IOP) for the Pennyroyal and LifeSkills regions.

In addition, Kilgore is very involved in serving her local community. She currently serves as secretary for the Southern Kentucky Re-entry Council, secretary for the Bowling Green-Warren County Jaycees, secretary for the Southern Kentucky Fair Board, and trustee for the Lodge 13 Fraternal Order of Police.

Kilgore received her master's degree from WKU in criminology.
