School opens today: Police watching for aggressive drivers

Columbia Police alert for traffic safety for Opening Day of School for Adair County School District students. Today, Thursday, August 5, 2015.

By Ofc. Josh Brockman
Columbia Police Department, Chief, Jason Cross

Columbia Police Department would like to remind everyone to be aware as the school buses will start their routes again today.

Be prepared to stop. Look for kids who may be near the roadway for loading and unloading of buses.

If you are going to be bringing your kids to school or picking them up be patient and allow yourself extra time as traffic is generally heavy the first few days schools.

We will have officers in and around the school zone patrolling watching for aggressive driving.

We hope the kids and school staff have a wonderful first day of school.
