Click on headline for complete story ColumbiaMagazine.com (c) story Rob Wilkerson, CEO of Wilkerson Auto Mobility, an affiliated company of Assisted Transportation Systems, LLC, was the high bidder at the auction of Columbia Tire & Recapping real estate located at 410 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. The property adjoins the ATS Toyota conversion facility and lot at the corner of Fairground and Campbellsville Streets. Wilkerson said he is already negotiating with demolition firms to raze the building, and that work should begin in approximately 12 days to two weeks from today. He said that at present, he has no definite plans to develop the lot other than give a more open appearance to the corner, but has had interest in it. "I just see it as icing on the cake for now," he said. "After the wonderful work the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet did virtually eliminating a traffic snarl and the improving the appearance of this approach to Columbia, I see a bright future for this business district." The auction was held in the Adair Judicial Center, 201 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, at 10amCT. Wilkerson said there one other bidder for the property.
