Memorial to honor former Salato Wildlife Center director By Dave Baker News from Kentucky Fish & Wildlife FRANKFORT, KY - A memorial ceremony to honor former Salato Wildlife Education Center Director Laurie Davison will be held at the center, 1 Sportsman's Lane, Frankfort, KY, at 1:30pmCT/2:30pmET, Friday, August 14, 2015. Davison, who managed the Salato Center for the past 15 years, drowned last month while vacationing in South Carolina. She worked with numerous conservation and civic groups to provide interactive and interpretive programming about Kentucky's native wildlife and its importance. She also guided development of many of the native wildlife live animal exhibits, hiking trails and displays in and around the center that have been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands outdoor enthusiasts since her career at the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources began in 2000. The ceremony at the Salato Center will be open to the public. The center is located in the back section of the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife campus in Frankfort.
