Lighting project for LBN/KY 61 S interchange has been let

It won't be long before the interchange at KY 61 S and the Cumberland Parkway has new lighting. The $498,098 project has been awarded to Davis-Elliott, Somerset, KY. A pre-construction conference with the winning contractor will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 8, in Somerset, KY, according to Amber Hale, Public Information Officer for the District.

The project has long been championed by Vicky Pike and Junior Stotts. Stotts was notified of the bid award this morning, Monday, June 29, 2015, by Chief District Engineer Bruce Neeley.

The project will get underway soon. The only delay in the start of work will be the arrival of special supplies for the project, Amber Hale said.
