District 3 Traffic Impact Report for May 25 to May 29

Click headline for a list of expected traffic impacts for May 25 through May 29, including work in Barren and Monroe Counties, work on Louie B Nunn-Cumberland Parkway. All work is subject to change.


Allen County
  • Hade Bell Road- Road is closed as construction of a replacement bridge over West Bays Fork continues.
  • KY 1578 (Isom Bradley Road) and Amos Long Creek Road- Both roads are closed to through traffic. The KYTC will be removing rock embankment at the road intersection to improve sight distance for public safety. Local traffic only will be permitted on both roads. A detour utilizing KY 100 and KY 99 will be in place.
Barren County
  • KY 90- (Between Adam McCreary Road and KY 839) - Earthwork operations will continue. Expect an increase in construction traffic and intermittent flagging operations. Traffic has been switched to the new alignment between Green Valley Road and Bethel Church Road. Traffic has been shifted to a temporary alignment between Glover Road and Old Josh Road and will remain there until further notice. Motorists should be aware that the speed limit has been reduced through the construction zone.
  • Outer Loop- The Glasgow Outer Loop will open to traffic on Tuesday, May 26.
  • Louie B Nunn-Cumberland Parkway- A pavement rehabilitation project will continue between the I-65 interchange and the Glasgow Outer Loop project. Motorists should expect short-term lane closures for the next few weeks as crews begin the first phase of the project. Wide load restrictions remain in place between the 0 and 11 mile markers. Eastbound will be restricted to loads 9 ft. and less as temporary barrier walls will be installed on the Beaver Creek Bridge at mile point 8.2. Westbound traffic will be restricted to 13 ft. and less. Motorists should be aware that the speed limit has been reduced through the construction zone and double fines signs are posted throughout the project.
  • NOBOB ROAD (KY 839)- Contractors will be placing rock shoulders from the Monroe County line to KY 90. Flaggers will be present.
  • ROCKY HILL ROAD (KY 255)- Contractors will be placing rock shoulders from KY 252 extending north to Steam Mill Road. Flaggers will be present.
  • Merry Oak Railton Rd (KY 2240)- Merry Oak Railton Road. will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday, May 26 for culvert construction at Brushy Fork (MP 1.1). This closure will last approximately two weeks while crews remove the existing culvert pipes and construct a new concrete box culvert. A detour will be established during this time. The detour will route traffic via KY 255.
Butler County
  • US 231, MP 11-12 - Road is closed in both directions from Old Logansport Road to KY 70. Motorists will use KY 70 and Old Logansport Road as the detour. The closure is expected to last until midsummer. Boat Factory Road will still be accessible and access to businesses on the closed portion of US 231 will be available on Old Logansport Road. Motorists may experience some delays on the detour route during the morning and afternoon rush hours.
Edmonson County
  • KY 743- (Between KY 101 and Sulphur Rd.) - Earthwork operations will continue for a widening project. Expect an increase in construction traffic and intermittent flagging operations. The road has been reduced to one lane as you approach Sulpher Branch Creek while crews begin construction of the new bridge. A temporary signal is in place to maintain traffic.
Logan County
  • US 68/KY 80- Scotty's Contracting and Stone will continue a project to install left and right turn lanes into the new Champion Products Pet Food factory in Auburn, KY. There may be a lane closure in each direction on US 68 for the duration of this project. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 MPH through this work zone. Motorists need to slow down and pay attention when travelling through this project. This project is expected to be complete by May 31.
Monroe County
  • KY 678- Scotty's Contracting will be resurfacing KY 678 from KY 163 to KY 839.
  • KY 2768- Scotty's Contracting will be resurfacing KY 2768 from KY 163 to KY 839.
Todd County
  • A contractor will be installing chip seal shoulders on KY 104 from the Tennessee line to KY 181. One lane closure will be in place with flaggers directing traffic. Motorists should slow down and use caution when traveling through this work zone. This project should be completed by Friday.
  • A contractor will continue resurfacing portions of KY 107, KY 171, and KY 2627. During this operation one lane closure will be in place with flaggers directing traffic. Motorists should slow down and use caution when traveling through these work zones.
Warren County
  • I-65 to US 31-W Connecter - Contractor will continue to build grade between I-65 and 31W. There is potential for a Lane closure on I-65 southbound in the slow lane during the day to allow trucks to get in and out of the work zone. Two lanes will remain open. All work is weather dependent.
  • Bristow/Moorman Lane Realignment on US 31-W north - Contractor will be working in this area and possible lane closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. One lane in each direction will remain open.
  • KY 884 Three Springs Road Widening - Contractor will continue to widen from Fieldstone Avenue to Minit Mart. Traffic should be alert as trucks and equipment enter and exit the work zone.
  • KY 2629 Bridge Maintenance - Contractors may possibly start on a bridge maintenance project on Old Scottsville road on the bridge over Drakes Creek. Initially most of the work will be done off the road below the bridge but possible lane closures may be in place between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to perform the work.
