Ben Burris: Differs with Rodney Burris on kynect

Ben Burris writes:
Dear Editor, Rodney Burris is mistaken. Kynect is NOT providing health insurance for the "non-providers." It is covering countless employees who show up for work day in and day out and work 40 or more hours a week, but can't afford health insurance because their employer pays them $7.25 per hour or only slightly better. I know of many such individuals. Compound this with what these employees also receive in other benefits such as food stamps and I would hope Mr. Burris would (along with so many others) support raising the minimum wage and $15 an hour, which most unbiased economists have shown to be revenue neutral. The real tragedy here is that we aren't helping people, but subsidizing corporate wages. -Ben Burris, Columbia, KY --Ben Burris
