CJE Mike Stephens offers to chair town meeting

Sally Kemp: Suggests Town Hall meeting to answer questions

By Ed Waggener

Adair County Judge Mike Stephens offered to chair a town meeting along the lines of one outlined by Sally Kemp in an earlier article on ColumbiaMagazine.com.

"There are a lot of questions on everyone's minds," he said, "I think a town hall meeting would be a good idea. People should be able to ask everyone involved, including the the Board of Elections, to be there to make statements and answer questions," he said, and said in addition to moderating the event, he'd be willing to take questions himself.

While he could advise and request county officials involved to attend, he said, he wouldn't have any power to make them be there. "I can't see how they wouldn't want to clear the air, and move on."

He made the comments in an interview following tonight's meeting, Tuesday, April 28, 2015, of the Adair County Public Hospital Board of Trustees at Westlake Regional Hospital.
