The collision occurred when a 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer car operated by 34 year old Heather Jimenez of Columbia was travelling north on KY61 and according to witness statements failed to stop at the traffic control device at intersection.

Jimenez proceeded thru red light into the intersection where she struck 45 year old Dewayne Wilson of Nicholasville KY who was operating a 2013 Ford Focus traveling east on the Veterans Bypass.
