Kathy Carmicle Emerson of Georgetown, KY passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Georgetown Community Hospital. She was 53.

Funeral services are 1pmCT/2pmET, Monday, April 20, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Ernie Carmicle officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery. Visitation is 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the funeral home.



Kathy Carmicle Emerson, Casey County, KY (1961-2015)


Born November 23, 1961 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Glendell Carmicle and Lida Mae O'Neil Carmicle. She died Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the age of 53 years, four months, and 24 days.

She was a licensed R.N. and a graduate of Somerset Community College. She was a member of the Liberty First Baptist Church. Kathy was a loving Nana.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter: Amy Goode of Lexington, KY

  • Four grandsons: Quenton, Gaven, Aden and Nolan

  • A brother: Marcus Carmicle of Lexington, KY

  • A half-brother: Christopher Carmicle of Glasgow, KY

  • A sister: Teresa (and Tom) Estes of Kings Mountain, KY

  • Half-sister: Ericka Handley of Cave City, KY

  • Three nieces: Chastity, Ashley and Lindsey

  • Two nephews: Derek and Sam
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Carmicle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the funeral home to offset funeral cost.
