Esther Meyer, 82 of the Flatwoods Community of Adair Co. KY formerly of Chicago, Illinois passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 9pmCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

Funeral service Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10amCT, at the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5472 South Kimbark Avenue, Hyde Park, Chicago IL Interment in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Stickney, Illinois. Local visitation will be Friday, April 3, 2015 from 1pm-6pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY. Visitation Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 2pm-8pmCT, at the Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Stickney, Illinois.



Esther Meyer, 82, Adair County, KY (1932-2014)


She was born in Exeland, Sawyer County, Wisconsin on July 13, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Theodora (Chrastowski) Stankowski. She died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 82 years, eight months, and 19 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Walter Henry Meyer on November 4, 1984 and by one daughter Tametha Ann Meyer.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Jeffrey Meyer and wife Pam of Columbia, KY; and Walter K. Meyer of Chicago, IL

  • Five daughters: Lillian Myer (James) of Columbia, KY; Corliss Bradbury of Jamestown, KY; Pamela Stano and husband James of Berwyn, IL; Wendy Nelson and husband Greg of Columbia, KY; Brenda Meyer of Columbia, KY

  • One grandson that she reared: Anthony Meyer of Columbia, KY

  • Four sisters

  • Twenty-four grandchildren
  • Ten great grandchildren
Mrs. Meyer was of the Catholic faith.
