Something about this intersection requires an intervention

Personal Commentary

I do not know how many lives have been taken at 61 bypass, but even one is one too many. The past two or three weekends have resulted in accidents at the intersection.

I know people are texting while driving, eating while driving, talking while driving, but what makes this intersection worse than others?

There seems to be a clear view coming from all directions. I am scared to drive through the intersection, and almost stop even when there is a green light.

One intervention may be to install a flashing light that says prepare to stop when light is flashing, and have the flashing light to interact with the actual intersection stop light.

I see this in a lot of cities as well as Eastern KY.Or perhaps a flashing sign like you see on interstates, "dangerous intersection,"

It may cost a small amount of change, but compared to the lives that have been taken, it is only minimal.

I am not sure what the answer is, but there must be something different about this intersection that requires an intervention. --Mary Bardin
