Howard Richard Carter, Russell County, KY (1953-2015)

He was a truck driver for Stephens Pipe & Steel. He was a native of Indianapolis, IN, and a resident of Jamestown, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Howard Milton & Ruby Burton Carter. His wife, Mary Ellen Carter, survives. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Howard Richard Carter, 61, of Jamestown, died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Russell County Hospital, ER, Russell Springs, KY.

Visitation for Howard Richard Carter will be 9am-11amCT, Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY. No funeral service is scheduled.

He was born May 2, 1953 in Indianapolis, Marion County, IN. He was the son of the late Howard Milton & Ruby Burton Carter. He died Sunday, March 15, 2015, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 61 years, 10 months, and 13 days.

He was a truck driver for Stephens Pipe & Steel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lee Carter; one brother, Donald Carter; and two sisters, Brenda Carson and Sue Embry.

Survivors include the following:
  • Wife: Mary Ellen Carter, Jamestown, KY

  • Two children: William Russell Carter, and Terena Bernard, both of Jamestown, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Kalyn Carter, Kegan Sullivan, Savanna Sullivan, Autumn Carter, and Keara Carter

  • Three sisters: Sheila Carter, Rhonda Carter, Terry Carter, all of Indianpolis, IN

  • Three brothers: David Ellis, Jimmy Carter, Russell Carter, all of Indianpolis, IN
