Iva Louise Wilborn Bernard, 89, of Shelbyville, IN, died Saturday, February 21, 2015, at her residence.

Graveside service for Iva Louise Wilborn Bernard was at 1pmCT, Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Lucenda Cemetery in Russell County, KY with Bro. Bodie Emerson officiating. Visitation for family was at 12:30pmCT, at the Lucenda Cemetery, with burial in the Lucenda Cemetery.

She was born Sunday, November 29,1925, in Clinton County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Will Clyde & Dona Bell Williams Wilborn. She died Saturday, February 21 2015, in Shelbyville, Shelby County, IN, at the age of 89 years, two months, and 23 days.

She was the widow of Joseph Green Bernard. She was a seamstress/Dry Cleaners owner.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Albany, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Green Bernard; a son, Ronnie Bernard; a sister, Georgia Claborn; a brother, Omer Wilborn, and a son-in-law, Jim Clark.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three children: Wendell (Vicki) Bernard, Shelbyville, IN; Daryl (Sharon) Bernard, Shelbyville, IN; and Cheryl Clark, Flat Rock, IN.

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Ten great-grandchildren

  • Several step-grandchildren and step-great-granchildren

  • Two sister-in-laws: Liz Flanagan, Jamestown, KY; and Lola Jett, Russell Springs, KY

  • four brother-in-laws: Leonard Bernard, Chicago, IL; David Bernard, Jamestown, KY; Robert Bernard, Russell Springs, KY; and Paul Bernard, Russell Springs, KY
