Chanel Roberts named MSC Women’s Basketball Player of Week

It is the second time this season Blue Raider Roberts has earned the conference honor

COLUMBIA, KY - Sophomore Chanel Roberts is the Mid-South Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday, January 19, 2015. It marks the second time this season she has earned the award after previously picking up the honor on December 8. Roberts averaged 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and three steals per game while helping the No. 21-ranked Blue Raiders to three wins last week.



The Radcliff, Kentucky, forward opened the week with a 21-point and five-steal performance at home against Berea (KY). Roberts connected on 9-of-15 shots as the Blue Raiders defeated Berea 81-64.



Roberts is fifth in the Mid-South averaging 15.2 points per game and third in field goal percentage, shooting 47.4 from the floor this season. She ranks eighth in the conference in rebounding, averaging 6.2 rebounds per outing. Nationally, Roberts is 31st in field goal percentage and 41st in scoring.

Lindsey Wilson improves to 16-4 overall and 4-2 in the Mid-South with last week's wins.
