2014 KMEA State Championship: 1) Russell 2) ADAIR 3) Bourbon

Big prize stays in neighborhood. Russell Co. Laker Band wins Top Class A Band trophy 2014

Shamarie Claiborne sent word that neighboring Russell County High School won 1st Place, ADAIR won 2nd Place, and Bourbon County, under the direction of former ADAIR member Eric Hale, was 3rd, at the KMEA State Competition at Madison Central High School, Richmond, KY, Saturday night, November 1, 2014.

"Of course we had hoped for the championship at State," she said. "But we're cool that if it had to go to another school, it stayed so close to home."

The ADAIR Band has one huge event remaining: The Bands of America national competition in Indianapolis, IN. More will be posted on that as received.
