28 Oct 2014 Russell County Grand Jury returns indictments

Indictments handed down on Wed 28 Oct 2014 include drug, sexual offenses, assault, theft by deception, others.

The Russell County Grand Jury (57th Judicial Circuit), Jamestown, KY, returned indictments against the following nine individuals:


  1. Edwin Hoyt Weddle (D.O.B. 9/20/1951 ) Indictment No. 14-CR-00095 - Charged with 7 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in a contolled substance, 1st degree. Count 2 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 2nd degree. Count 3 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 3rd Degree. Count 4 - Trafficking in Marijuana, under 8 ounces. Count 5 - Cultivating Marijuana. Count 6 - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Count 7 - Possession of a defaced firearm.
  2. Jason Deel. (D.O.B. 3/4/1972 ). Indictment No. 14-CR-00096 - Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Flagrant non-support
  3. Rusty Weddle (D.O.B. 5/4/1980 ). Indictment No. 14-CR-00097 - Charged with 10 counts. Count 1 - Rape, 2nd degree. Count 2- Sodomy, 2nd degree. Count 3 - Sodomy 2nd Degree. Count 4 - Unlawful transaction with a minor, 1st Degree. Count 5 - Unlawful transaction with a minor, 1s degree. Count 6 - Possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor, 1st degree. Count 7 - Possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor. Count 8 - Posession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor. Count 9 - Posession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor. Count 10 - Persistent Felony Offender, 1st Degee.
  4. Dillard J. Lee (D.O.B. 10/22/1987 ) . Indictment No. 14-CR-00098 - Charged with 1 counts. Count 1 - Flagrant non-support
  5. Troy Stephens (D.O.B. 2/7/1964 ) . Indictment No. 14-CR-00099 - Charged with 5 counts. Count 1 - Assault, 1st Degree. Count 2 - Assault, 1st degree. Count 3 - Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree. Count 4 - DUI first offense. Count 5 - DUI,
  6. Johnny D. Smith (D.O.B. 8/31/1969) Indictment No. 14-CR-00100 - Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking over $10,000. (2008 Chevolet Silverado truck, depriving Roger Stockton of truck). Count 2 - Theft by unlawful taking under $10,000)
  7. Leslie H. Burton (D.O.B. 10/11/1987 ) Indictment No. 14-CR-00101 - Charged with 1 counts. Count 1 - Assault, 2nd degree.
  8. Damien N. Wilson (D.O.B. 11/30/1994 ) Indictment No. 14-CR-00102 - Charged with 1 counts. Count 1 - Theft by deception over $10,000.
  9. Michael Foley (D.O.B. 9/8/1982 ) Address. Indictment No. 14-CR-00103 - Charged with 1 counts. Count 1 - Flagrant non Support.
Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt.
